Application Overview
Parts and selection points for Custom Wheels & Tuning
Wheel brands, tuning shops and importers of modified parts sell cast and forged wheels for luxury cars, sports cars and personal vehicles, where size, finish and fitment specs define the product. Getting PCD, ET or CB wrong causes vibration, rubbing or wheels that won't mount at all, and the finish has to hold up on the road. Buyers look for customizable specs, a choice of finishes, and the certifications required in their target market.
- Choose cast aluminum alloy wheels (13-22 inch) for volume retail lines, and one-piece forged 6061-T6 wheels (12-24 inch) for premium or lightweight programs.
- Specify PCD, ET and CB for each target vehicle to avoid hub-centering problems and fender or brake interference.
- Specify the surface finish, such as chrome, black or machined face, based on the climate and road salt exposure in the sales market.
- For North American and European markets, confirm the wheel model carries the required DOT, TUV or VIA certification before ordering.
