Application Overview
Parts and selection points for Off-Road & 4WD
Pickups, SUVs and 4WD vehicles driven on trails, gravel and rough terrain need wheels that can take impacts and heavy loads, plus brakes and cooling that hold up under low-speed, high-torque driving. Parts take hits from rocks and mud, and cooling systems get dust buildup and heat soak. Buyers in this segment want stronger wheels in common off-road PCDs and parts that fit the vehicle's original braking and cooling setup.
- Choose 17-inch off-road wheels in the PCD that matches the vehicle, such as 5×114.3, 5×150 or 6×139.7, and confirm the ET and CB for tire and brake clearance.
- Consider one-piece forged 6061-T6 wheels where you need high strength and lower weight on rough terrain.
- Check that the wheel's inner barrel clears the brake disc and caliper, especially on vehicles with upgraded or larger brakes.
- Choose radiators with an efficient aluminum core to handle the extra heat from towing and slow, high-load climbs.
